This is a research work, read and get orientated
We often use hand sanitizers after visiting a public toilet as we fear infection. That fear is justified, but do you know about various other things that can actually be more dangerous?
Toothbrushes: Surprised? Well, don't be.
After a toilet flush, bacteria can travel up to 6 feet and linger in the air for up to 2 hours and hence, land up on toothbrushes.
Kitchen wipes and sponges: They have 10 million bacteria per square inch and are known to be 2,00,000 times dirtier than a toilet seat. They can affect health severely.
Chopping boards: Boards used to chop raw meat have truckload of faecal bacteria, need not be told how harmful they can be. Average chopping boards have 200 times more faecal bacteria than a toilet seat.
Carpets: Carpets are known to have
2,00,000 bacteria per square inch and are 400 times dirtier than a toilet seat.
Ice: A study conducted in various
American restaurants revealed that the ice it served had more bacteria than the restaurant's toilet water.
Restroom floors: With the number of
people walking in with their dirty shoes, the number of bacteria on the floor is bound to be more than that on a toilet seat. Public restrooms are known have up to 1.5 to 2 million bacteria per square inch, whereas an average toilet seat houses only 50.
Restaurant menus: Menu cards are often the least cleaned items and hence have a huge number of bacteria on them. When compared to a toilet seat they have 10 times more bacteria, that may or may not be harmful.
Office desks: Shocked? Is that where you spend most of your day? A study
conducted revealed that office desks have 400 times more bacteria than a toilet seat and influenza viruses are most common on office desks.
Cell phones: Mobile phones are known to have 10 times more bacteria than a toilet seat. Cleaning it regularly is important because the chances of infection is high as the mouth is exposed to these bacteria.
Keyboards: Clean your keyboard now! It is quite likely that you have never cleaned it.
They are known to carry over 200 times more bacteria than a toilet seat.
