Systems in your body that are affected when you take marijuana, weeds etc.

by Olabajo Oluwatobiloba  |  in weed at  8:53 am

It is no news that smoking and inhaling harmful substances are by far dangerous to our health. Below are some of the systems in our which could be weakened if we smoke so often.
THC means Tetrahydrocannibol.
- Respiratory System
Much like tobacco smoke, marijuana smoke is made up of a variety of toxic chemicals that can irritate your bronchial passages and lungs. If you’re a regular smoker, you’re more likely to wheeze, cough, and produce phlegm.
You’re also at increased risk of bronchitis and lung infections. Marijuana may aggravate existing respiratory illnesses like asthma and cystic fibrosis.
Marijuana smoke contains carcinogens. It has the potential to elevate your risk of developing lung cancer. However, studies on the subject have had mixed results. According to the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA), there is no conclusive evidence that marijuana smoke causes lung cancer. More research is needed.
- Circulatory System
THC moves from your lungs into your bloodstream and throughout your body. Within minutes, your heart rate may increase by 20 to 50 beats per minute, according to the NIDA .
That rapid heartbeat can continue for up to three hours. For people with heart disease, this faster heartbeat could raise the risk of heart attack.
One of the telltale signs of recent marijuana use is bloodshot eyes. They look red because marijuana causes blood vessels in the eyes to expand or dilate. Marijuana may help stop the growth of blood vessels that feed cancerous tumors.
- Central Nervous System
When you inhale marijuana
smoke into your lungs, it doesn’t take long for THC to enter your bloodstream. From there, it is quickly transported to your brain and the rest of your organs. When you get marijuana from food or drink, it is absorbed a little more slowly.
THC triggers your brain to release large amounts of dopamine, a naturally occurring “feel good” chemical. That’s what gives you a pleasant “high.” It may heighten your sensory perception, as well as your perception of time.
In the hippocampus, THC changes the way you process information, so your judgment may be impaired. It may also be difficult to form new memories when you’re high.
Changes also take place in the cerebellum and basal ganglia, upsetting your balance, coordination, and reflex response. All those changes mean that it’s not safe to drive.
Very large doses of marijuana or high
concentrations of THC can cause
hallucinations or delusions. According to the NIDA , there may be an association between marijuana use and some mental health problems like depression and anxiety, but more research is needed to understand the connection. In people who have schizophrenia, marijuana use can make symptoms worse.
When you come down from the high, you may be tired or feel a bit depressed. In some people, marijuana can cause anxiety. About nine percent of marijuana users develop an addiction, according to the NIDA . Symptoms of withdrawal may include irritability, insomnia, and loss of appetite.
In young people whose brains are not yet fully developed, marijuana can have a lasting impact on thinking and memory skills. If you use marijuana when pregnant, it can affect the brain of your unborn baby. Your child may be more prone to trouble with memory, concentration, and problem-solving skills.
THC can lower pressure in the eyes, which can ease symptoms of glaucoma for a few hours.
According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology , more research is needed to understand the active ingredients in marijuana and whether or not it’s a good treatment for glaucoma.
The pharmacologic effect of marijuana extends throughout the central nervous system. It is thought to ease pain and inflammation. It may also be of use in controlling spasms and seizures.
- Digestive System
Smoking marijuana can cause
stinging or burning in your mouth and throat. When you take oral THC, it is processed in your liver. Marijuana can ease nausea and vomiting. It can also increase appetite, which can be useful to people living with cancer or AIDS.
- Immune System
Some research indicates that THC affects the immune system. Studies involving animals showed that THC might damage the immune system, making you more vulnerable to illness.

What you should know about the discoloration of teeth(Brown & Yellow teeth)

by Olabajo Oluwatobiloba  |  in teeth at  1:26 pm

This Is a research work and I wouldn't have bluntly believed this if I haven't seen or heard it before.
There is this guy, or you should I call him man?, in the polytechnic I went to. He had a bit of Brown teeth - not much sha.
Me, am very coded and not so blunt outside, never said anything about the brown teeth since it wasn't my teeth nor my business even though we were very close, intact we addressed ourselves as brothers(attimes). One night he was talking and said the reason why his teeth is Brown is because of how his mother gave him Anti-biotics(to make him hungry and eat) which affected him.
I didn't believe and I did believe. Buh just tiny since he wasn't an health expert.
Truly I lie not, this bro can brush for africa asin he brushes day and night. If he doesn't brush for two months you won't run back due to bad breath [Exaggeration].
This brown teeth stuff, my younger once had but because of "fipaa" from the Olabajo's. He opted for some measures and cleared it off.
Although brushing could also cause teeth discoloration but it doesn't most of the Times.
This article will orientate you. Read
Your teeth can become discolored by stains on the surface or by changes inside the tooth.
There are three main types of tooth
discoloration:
Extrinsic — This occurs when the outer layer of the tooth (the enamel) is stained. Coffee, wine, cola or other drinks or foods can stain teeth. Smoking also causes extrinsic stains.
Intrinsic — This is when the inner structure of the tooth (the dentin) darkens or gets a yellow tint. You can get this type of discoloration if:
You had too much exposure to fluoride during early childhood.
Your mother used tetracycline antibiotics during the second half of
pregnancy.
You used tetracycline antibiotics when you were 8 years old or younger.
You had trauma that affected a tooth
when you were a young child. A fall, for example, may damage the developing permanent tooth.
You had trauma in a permanent tooth, and internal bleeding discolored the
tooth.
You were born with a rare condition
called dentinogenesis imperfecta. This causes gray, amber or purple
discolorations.
Age-related — This is a combination of extrinsic and intrinsic factors. Dentin
naturally yellows over time. The enamel that covers the teeth gets thinner with age, which allows the dentin to show through.
Foods and smoking also can stain teeth as people get older. Finally, chips or other injuries can discolor a tooth, especially when the pulp has been damaged.
Symptoms
Symptoms include stains on the enamel. They can range from white streaks to yellow tints or brown spots and pits. If the enamel has worn away, and dentin is showing through, you may notice a yellow tint.
Diagnosis
No special tests are needed. A dentist or other dental professional can diagnose tooth discoloration by looking at the teeth.
Expected Duration
Some tooth discoloration can be removed with professional cleaning. An example would be the stains caused by coffee. Many stains are permanent, however. Teeth sometimes can be whitened with a bleaching gel. In some cases, if the discoloration is severe, a crown or veneer may be required to cover it.

Prevention

Brushing your teeth after every meal will help to prevent some stains. Dentists recommend that you rinse your mouth with water after having wine, coffee or other drinks or foods that can stain your teeth. Regular cleanings by a dental hygienist also will help to remove surface stains.
Intrinsic stains that are caused by damage to a nerve or blood vessel in a tooth sometimes can be prevented. You may need to have root canal treatment to remove the inner part of the tooth (the pulp) before it has a chance to decay and darken. However, teeth that have root canal treatment may darken anyway.
To prevent intrinsic stains in children, avoid too much early exposure to fluorides. Once the enamel is formed, fluoride will not discolor teeth.

Treatment

Many extrinsic stains caused by food and drink can be removed by regular professional cleanings and home care. Good home care includes brushing, flossing and rinsing after meals.
Discoloration often can be removed by applying a bleaching agent to the tooth enamel. One technique is called "power bleaching." With this method, the dentist applies a light-activated bleaching gel. It causes the teeth to get significantly whiter in about 30 to 45 minutes. Several follow-up treatments may be needed, or take-home bleaching trays may be provided.
It's also possible to remove discoloration at home. You will use a bleaching gel and a mouth guard given to you by your dentist. The bleaching gels designed for use at home aren't as strong as those applied by your dentist.
This means that the process takes longer — usually two to four weeks.
You also can buy whitening products over the counter. They contain a weaker bleach than the products you can get from your dentist.
The whitening agent is applied as a gel placed in a mouthpiece or as a strip that sticks to your teeth. Over-the-counter mouthpieces fit less securely than the kind you get from your dentist, but they will lighten your teeth over time. Whitening toothpastes may remove minor stains. They do not actually change the overall color of your teeth.
If your tooth has darkened after a root canal, bleaching the enamel won't help. Your dentist can apply a bleaching material to the inside of the tooth, or you may consider a crown or veneer.
Bleaching will not lighten some stains, such as tetracycline stains. In this case, your dentist may recommend covering the discolored areas. This also may be useful when the tooth is chipped or badly damaged.
A tooth can be covered with a color-matched composite bonding material. Another option is to get veneers. These are thin ceramic shells that cover the outer surfaces of the teeth.

Guess that bro own is intrinsic. Stay tuned as we give you wide updates on health tips....

Do you know smoking hinders your blood flow?.

by Olabajo Oluwatobiloba  |  in stop at  3:14 pm

It was discovered during the latter-half of the
20th century that smoking is not a healthy social habit. The American Heart Association reports that smoking is one of the most
preventable causes of death. In fact, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that 443,000 Americans die each year from smoking-related complications. Smoking adversely affects every
part of your body, including the circulatory system. The circulatory system is comprised of the blood vessels, muscles and organs that
transport blood throughout your body.
Toxins
There are several toxins in smoking products that can wreak havoc on your body. Such toxins are even more potent when they are combined together in cigarettes. According to the Better Health Channel, these toxins include carbon monoxide, free radicals, hydrogen cyanide, metals such as lead, radioactive compounds and tar. Carbonmonoxide directly affects your blood by inhibiting the transportation of oxygen to your organs. Free radicals raise your low-density
lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels, thereby raising your total cholesterol level.
Once again, am besseching you to stop smoking.
Didn't you hear?.
It hinders blood circulation and if blood doesn't circulate. Oh mehn that is a great ticket to short life.
Pass this to folks and many other

Do You smoke?. Stop it cos it's very bad. See few of its damages

by Olabajo Oluwatobiloba  |  in smoking at  3:03 pm

Incase you don't know smoking causes illness and illness lead to death,
Smoking does no good for the body. Infact when you see the pack of the cigarette. Its written legibly that Smokers are liable to die young. Smoking does no relief to the body rather it kills. I have heard people say reasons they smoke and I found out that they just think smoking is fun. The main reasons why cigarettes were produced was to keep the human body cool against cold and other odds in cold places in the world but now people smoke even in hot sun. Imagine Hot + Hot. Won't that lead to death?
Like I said earlier smoking does more bad than good in the body, among its
other disadvantages. It is the most
preventable lifestyle factor affecting human
health. Smoking harms every organ in your
body. Your heart, blood vessels, lungs and
fertility are all negatively affected by smoking
and the chemicals in cigarettes.
Heart and Blood Vessel Health
Smoking changes the structure of blood
vessels. This can lead to the buildup of plaque
that hardens and narrows the vessels, causing
a disease called atherosclerosis.
Atherosclerosis is a common cause of heart
attacks and peripheral artery disease. Smoking
increases your likelihood of developing high
blood pressure. The carbon monoxide inhaled
from cigarette smoke interferes with the way
oxygen is carried by your blood to organs,
including the heart, which links it to heart
disease. Smoking also increases the incidence
of blood clots, which can lead to strokes.
Lung Function
The lung is the main target of the smoke
inhaled by cigarettes because it has direct
contact with the chemicals. Smoking is the
most common cause of chronic obstructive
pulmonary disease, or COPD, which affects the
function of the lungs and how they deliver
oxygen into the body. COPD includes chronic
bronchitis and emphysema and involves a
change in the structure of your lung tissue and
airways. If you have asthma, smoking can
increase the frequency and severity of attacks.
Smoking diminishes lung function, so you may
experience shortness of breath even with little
or no exertion.

Your lungs are very important. Shun smoking today. Pass this message to other guys, friends, foes, families and lets stop smoking.
