Precaution measures that helps prevent Dandruff.

by Olabajo Oluwatobiloba  |  in preventives at  4:42 pm

After posting its treatments, causes and its definitions.
A Few Precautionary Measures:
Use The Right Shampoo:
Having clean hair is important to make sure that dandruff does not set in. There are vast arrays of great anti-dandruff shampoos that work wonders. It is best to choose something mild unless your case is severe. Dead cells need to be prevented from accumulating and
the best way to do this is to keep your hair and scalp immaculately clean.
Hair Brushing:
Brushing out an oily, dandruff-affected scalp before a hair wash also will help you reduce dandruff. This has to be followed by a rinse using a mixture of malt vinegar and
water (4 tea spoons vinegar in one mug of water).
Water and Food:
One also must drink lots of water to keep the body healthy and clean.
Foods that are rich in vitamin B, zinc and Omega-3 fatty acids are great if you want to make sure that your scalp is free from flaking. Essential nutrients and oils are provided to your hair.
Fresh fruits and vegetables are also a must.
Eat protein-rich foods including eggs,
pulses and other supplements.
Junk foods such as burgers, pizzas, pastas and fried items should be avoided. Drinking unhealthy drinks such as colas, soda, hard drinks and soft drinks is said to be one of the reasons for dandruff.
Adequate Rest:
Lack of proper sleep and work pressure amongst family, peers and work tends to increase the chances of having dandruff.
Unhygienic living conditions, hormonal imbalances and few other factors such as comb sharing, lack of hair maintenance too are said to be the reasons for dandruff.
Travelling:
Ensure that you always cover your hair while travelling. This will help you reduce the risk of dandruff as the hair would not have to undergo the harsh polluted environment.
Swimming:
Also, while swimming, make sure to oil your hair and wear a shower cap. This will help reduce the risk of chlorine water spoiling the hair.
Sun Rays:
Do not expose your hair to the harsh sun rays, especially because the harmful UVA and UVB rays can dry the hair out.
Chemicals:
Also make sure to use herbal products to remove dandruff, as most products contain harmful parabens, sulphates and silicones.
However, ingredients such as ZPT and Pro-V Complex help reduce dandruff to a great extent.
Important Points to Remember:
1. Never share your combs and hair brushes.
2. Clean them regularly and keep them in a neat and tidy place.
3. If you see the first symptom of dandruff, immediately use a dandruff relief shampoo and conditioner. Switch over to different shampoos to see what fits you the best.
4. Some of the remedies might prove to be a little drying on the hair. Follow up with a good conditioner and make sure to keep the moisture locked in.
Follow this preventives and you wont be vulnerable to dandruff.

Brief: Acne(Pimples) Preventives

by Olabajo Oluwatobiloba  |  in prevention at  1:14 am

Sequel to my other post.
Here are what you should do to shun and ban Pimples from your body by following this preventives.
Read and get Oriented
1. Wash your face about twice each day. Do not wash it more often. Use a mild soap made especially for people with acne, and warm water. Do not scrub the skin. Experts advise the use of an OTC lotion which contains benzoyl peroxide
2. Don't try to burst the pimples. You may push the infection further down, causing more blocking and worse swelling and redness. Popping pimples makes scarring more likely
3. If you have to get rid of a pimple for some event, such as a wedding, or public speaking occasions, ask a specialist to treat it for you
4. Try to refrain from touching your face with your hands. When you are on the phone try not to let the receiver touch your face - there may be sebum and skin residue on it
5. Keep your hands clean, wash them regularly
6. Always wash your hands before touching your face. This includes before applying lotions, creams or makeup Glasses should regularly be cleaned. They will collect sebum and skin residue
6. You skin needs to breathe. If your acne is on your back, shoulders or chest try wearing loose clothing. Tight garments, such as headbands, caps and scarves should be avoided - if you have to wear them make sure they are cleaned regularly
7. Don't go to sleep with makeup on. Only use makeup that is noncomedogenic or nonacnegenic -If you don't know this, ask the shopkeeper or pharmacist. You should use makeup which does not have oil and does not clog up the pores.
8. Hair collects sebum and skin residue. Keep your hair clean and away from your face
9. Too much sun can cause your skin to produce more sebum. Several acne medications make it more likely that you will be sunburned(hmm)
10. If you shave your face, do it carefully. Use either an electric shaver or safety razors. If you use a safety razor make sure the blade
is sharp. Soften your skin and beard with warm soapy water before applying the shaving cream.
How to prevent making acne worse
Menstrual cycle - girls and women with acne tend to get it worse one or two weeks before their menstrual period arrives. This is probably due to hormonal changes that take place. Some people say they eat more
chocolate during this time and wonder whether there may be a connection.
However, experts believe the worsening acne is not due to chocolate, but rather to hormonal changes
Anxiety and stress - mental stress can affect your levels of some hormones, such as cortisol and adrenaline, which in turn can make acne worse. Again, stress can
make some people binge-eat. Experts believe the culprits are most likely the hormone levels, rather than the binge-eating
Hot and humid climates - when it is hot and humid we sweat more. This can make the acne worse
Oil based makeups - moisturizing creams, lubricating lotions, and all makeup that contain oil can speed up the blocking of your pores
Greasy hair - some hair products are very greasy and might have the same effect as oil based makeup. Hair products with cocoa butter or coconut butter are examples
Squeezing the pimples - if you try to
squeeze pimples your acne is more likely to get worse, plus you risk scarring.

Hm. Brief - I Told you.

Prevention and treatment of Seizures(Epilepsy)

by Olabajo Oluwatobiloba  |  in treatment at  9:46 am
Epilepsy has a number of sexual and reproductive complications that we don't fully understand. Nearly one-third of epileptic men suffer from erectile dysfunction, and many epileptic women complain of dry vagina, painful contractions during sex, or low libido.
These problems are particularly common in people with complex partial seizures originating in the temporal lobe of the brain. About 5% of babies born to women with epilepsy have a birth defect. This compares to about a 2.5% chance in the rest of the population. It's known that antiepileptic medications are responsible for at least some of the extra birth defects. The defects can be minor or easily corrected by surgery (malformed fingers, cleft lip, or palate) but occasionally more serious malformations suc
