Pimples remedies: How lemon juice serve a cure for pimples.

by Olabajo Oluwatobiloba  |  in remedies at  5:43 pm

Seeing the comments and messages i received on my previous posts relating to pimples, also called Acne on Facebook and some other networks. I got encouraged and decided to research it out. But you guys would not only encourage me but also make me proud if you update your comments here. Everyone can see it here and contribute.
"Comment with a standard browser" Well like I said, I have research it out for you...
Key!
- Lemon juice used on the skin can fight inflammation and inflammation.
- The effects of lemon juice are sometimes nearly immediate, especially when the basic problem is oily, clogged pores.
- Lemon juice works by killing acne bacteria.
- Lemon juice also works by stopping signals to the immune system to cause inflammation.
The effects of lemon juice are intensified by exposure to the UV-A rays of the sun.
People who have dark brown or black skin should use lemon juice, and all other skin treatments, with caution.
Comments of people who have Acne and used Lemon juice.
There are some acne sufferers who tried everything else and found their skin care solution in lemon juice. Here are some typical testimonies. A man in his mid-20’s writes:
“For the last six years I have been battling moderate to severe acne. It had reached the point that I was 24 years old, just graduated from college, and dreading not just job
interviews but even going outside the house.
I tried everything I could buy over the counter.
I used scrubbing cleansers, vitamin E, vitamin C, exfoliants, humectants, moisturizers, antiseptics, and even deep ocean sea water that cost $120 an ounce.
Then I heard about lemon juice. I was afraid to try it because eating fruit makes me itchy, but I found out that it’s OK when I put lemon juice on my skin. I start with a skin cleanser,
and then I lay a warm moist cloth on my face to open up my pores. Then I squeeze two lemons onto second warm, clean, moist cloth, and let it stay on my face for 5 or 10 minutes.
I can’t believe the difference! It took about three months for my pimples to go away, but now I have nearly acne-free skin!”
Another testimonial might go on the lines of this from a 30-year-old woman:
“I tried every treatment I could think of. I used Oxy, ProActiv, Neutrogena, facial waters, and even green tea and honey. Nothing got rid of my pimples, and I started getting these nasty little knots just below the surface of my skin.
Then I decided to try lemon juice. Twice a day
I wash my face with skin cleanser. Then I squeeze two lemons into a
clean bowl. I dip a cotton ball into the lemon juice and blot fresh lemon juice all over my face. I wait 15 to 30 minutes, and then rinse my face with warm water.
Lemon juice started to work right away, and the results were amazing! All those knots in my skin started to come to the surface, and most of them would come loose with just a
gentle nudge. I knew lemon
juice was drawing out the zits, but I had no idea what was underneath the surface.
My face looked totally different after about a week. I’ve been using lemon juice with great results for six months now—and it only costs
me about $5 a week.”
Lemon juice is easy, it’s organic, it’s highly unlikely to cause any side effects, and it works —both inside and out. Here’s why.
What Lemon Juice Does on Your Skin
Lemon juice, as we all know, is acidic.
Sometimes the whole problem in acne care is that the skin is not acidic enough for all the other treatments we do to work.
Although it’s popular to talk about alkalizing the interior of the body for health (actually
it’s only your urine that needs to be alkaline, the rest of your body is in a very right range of pH balance anyway), the surface of the skin is
actually healthier when it is acidic, with a pH between 4 and 5. That’s about the pH of lemon juice.
Lowering the pH of the skin makes it a lot less comfortable for bacteria. The skin needs some bacteria as part of its natural “clean up crew.” Acne bacteria in small numbers perform
a useful function by consuming excess sebum.
But lowering skin pH makes the pores a lot less hospitable to the bacteria, without causing them to send out the chemicals that trigger an immune reaction that result in
inflammation and redness on the skin. Korean scientists studying Korean citrus fruits have confirmed that applying lemon juice to the
skin causes acne bacteria to send out less of the chemical messenger that tricks the human immune system into destroying skin cells (and giving the bacteria an escape route to the
surface) by releasing a compound called interleukin-8, or IL-8.
Japanese scientists have discovered that a compound called nobiletin, which is also present in oranges, stops excess production of sebum, at least in lab animals. Bitter orange,
blood orange, and sweet orange juices (that is, juices from sweet oranges such as those consumed in most the world outside Asia, not
orange juice with sugar in it), can also be useful on oily skin.
Lemon Juice Can Sting
Many users note that lemon juice stings when it is applied to “active blemishes,” that is, when it is applied to pimples. Normally, anything that causes stinging of the skin is not a good thing if you have acne. Lemon
juice, however, causes a stinging that also slows down inflammatory processes, so that the net effect on the skin is good.
Are There People Who Should Not Use Lemon Juice?
There is one group of people who should not use lemon juice to treat acne. Lemon juice is not beneficial for acne on dark brown or black
skin. The reason not to use lemon juice on dark skin is that dark skin contains many melanocytes, cells that make pigment. Lemon
juice stimulates melanocytes to make antioxidants that protect the skin. When they make these protective antioxidants, they also
make extra skin pigments. It is possible that lemon juice, like nearly any other “stinging” skin treatment, can cause long-term or permanent darkening of already-dark skin.
Any darkening of the skin caused by lemon juice will be more severe when the skin i exposed to the sun. Lemon juice compounds.are especially active in the melanocytes when they are activated by the UV-A rays of
sunlight. Dark skin will not burn, but it will darken even more when exposed to sunlight after lemon juice treatment.
Lemon juice does not work for everyone, however, some comments talked of a dark girl who used this and was whole. So if you dark, still give it a try.

Pimple remedies: How to have a fresh and glowing skin with raw egg. - Detailed

by Olabajo Oluwatobiloba  |  in solution at  8:51 am

This is very useful to Tbthealth readers who have pimples, acne or any other facial disease.
Personally, I don't like egg scent, it makes me irritated. Even when I cook egg, I wash my hands thoroughly with soap and water, that's how much I hate the odour but it's a good cure for pimples.
There is one proverb like that that talks about those who want solution desperately goes through desperate measures to get solution. Same with this case, people who have pimples are always shy and embarrassed about the formidable facial disease won't mind the egg odour since they want fresh and glowing skin.
Well, this egg solution might help in some ways.
1
Wash your face. Wash your face with warm to hot water. This will open your pores and remove any dirt or oils gathered during the day.
2
Crack open the egg. Crack open the egg, and separate the yolk from the egg whites.
Get rid of the yolk. Then, stir the egg whites in a bowl until it gets frothy or bubbly.
3
Coat your face with the egg whites. Avoid contact with your lips and eyes. Make sure the entire rest of your face is covered with the egg. Even if you don't have acne in some areas of the face, the egg will remove
dead skin and help to prevent wrinkles.
4
Cover the egg whites on your face with tissue paper. Rip the tissue paper into about four pieces. You may need to use more than one sheet of tissue paper to cover your entire face.
5
Let it dry. The egg whites should dry on your face in 10-20 minutes.
6
Wash your face. Remove the tissue paper.
Once you have completely removed all the tissue paper, wash your face with warm water again to remove all the left over egg white.
7
Moisturize.
8
Repeat. Repeat the process at least once a week to keep your skin regular.

Brief: Acne(Pimples) Preventives

by Olabajo Oluwatobiloba  |  in prevention at  1:14 am

Sequel to my other post.
Here are what you should do to shun and ban Pimples from your body by following this preventives.
Read and get Oriented
1. Wash your face about twice each day. Do not wash it more often. Use a mild soap made especially for people with acne, and warm water. Do not scrub the skin. Experts advise the use of an OTC lotion which contains benzoyl peroxide
2. Don't try to burst the pimples. You may push the infection further down, causing more blocking and worse swelling and redness. Popping pimples makes scarring more likely
3. If you have to get rid of a pimple for some event, such as a wedding, or public speaking occasions, ask a specialist to treat it for you
4. Try to refrain from touching your face with your hands. When you are on the phone try not to let the receiver touch your face - there may be sebum and skin residue on it
5. Keep your hands clean, wash them regularly
6. Always wash your hands before touching your face. This includes before applying lotions, creams or makeup Glasses should regularly be cleaned. They will collect sebum and skin residue
6. You skin needs to breathe. If your acne is on your back, shoulders or chest try wearing loose clothing. Tight garments, such as headbands, caps and scarves should be avoided - if you have to wear them make sure they are cleaned regularly
7. Don't go to sleep with makeup on. Only use makeup that is noncomedogenic or nonacnegenic -If you don't know this, ask the shopkeeper or pharmacist. You should use makeup which does not have oil and does not clog up the pores.
8. Hair collects sebum and skin residue. Keep your hair clean and away from your face
9. Too much sun can cause your skin to produce more sebum. Several acne medications make it more likely that you will be sunburned(hmm)
10. If you shave your face, do it carefully. Use either an electric shaver or safety razors. If you use a safety razor make sure the blade
is sharp. Soften your skin and beard with warm soapy water before applying the shaving cream.
How to prevent making acne worse
Menstrual cycle - girls and women with acne tend to get it worse one or two weeks before their menstrual period arrives. This is probably due to hormonal changes that take place. Some people say they eat more
chocolate during this time and wonder whether there may be a connection.
However, experts believe the worsening acne is not due to chocolate, but rather to hormonal changes
Anxiety and stress - mental stress can affect your levels of some hormones, such as cortisol and adrenaline, which in turn can make acne worse. Again, stress can
make some people binge-eat. Experts believe the culprits are most likely the hormone levels, rather than the binge-eating
Hot and humid climates - when it is hot and humid we sweat more. This can make the acne worse
Oil based makeups - moisturizing creams, lubricating lotions, and all makeup that contain oil can speed up the blocking of your pores
Greasy hair - some hair products are very greasy and might have the same effect as oil based makeup. Hair products with cocoa butter or coconut butter are examples
Squeezing the pimples - if you try to
squeeze pimples your acne is more likely to get worse, plus you risk scarring.

Hm. Brief - I Told you.

Comprehensive: What is Acne(Pimples) and What causes it

by Olabajo Oluwatobiloba  |  in skin at  12:27 am

Many people don't know it as acne, many knows it as pimples.
Truly, some kids/parents are always happy whenever their child or they themselves have pimples. Lol. Quick story.

A wonderful morning, Child yawns, greets mum, greets dad and other extended relatives, brushes his teeth, while brushing, he checks the mirror, What's this on my face, He wondered and continued brushing, then Starts bathing, touches his face, Why is my face so rough, He wondered again, knowing in his mind that he would check the mirror while dressing, He started dressing, now it was time to comb hair, he joyfully draws his bears like he was going to take a photo, he goes to the mirror, sees pink or black stuffs over his face, I didn't change my cream or my soap. What happened? He thought, refusing to tell anyone since he was a big boy. Goes to the dining table for breakfast, mum sees his face. Michael, what's this all over your face, mum asked, she didn't wait for reply and said happily, is it pimples?. She asked then Called her husband. Sweetheart, Michael now has pimples, she said happily.(lol). Dad replies, wow, our son is now a big boy. Lol. Guessed you laughed
After reading this, tell me one word suitable for this parents. Lol
Oh My Dear, Pimples(acne) is a skin disease. It's not worth been happy about.
Another thought stroke me, "you guessing am the Michael?. Lol, nope Check my INstagram and see how fresh I am. Lol
Now over to the topic.
Read and get oriented!

What is acne?
The word acne comes from the word acme meaning "the highest point," which comes from the Greek akme meaning "point" or "spot" - it was originally misspelt, with an 'n' rather
than an 'm' in 1835.
Acne, medically known as Acne Vulgaris, is a skin disease that involves the oil glands at the base of hair follicles.
In humans, pimples tend to appear on the face, back, chest, shoulders and neck.
Simply put - skin cells, sebum and hair can clump together into a plug, this plug gets infected with bacteria, resulting in a swelling.
A pimple starts to develop when the plug begins to break down.
Scientists from the Washington University School of Medicine found that there are good and bad strains of bacteria that determine the severity and frequency of developing acne
. They explained in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology (March 2013 issue) that not all acne bacteria trigger pimples - in fact, one strain they identified can help keep the skin
pimple-free.
The types of pimples
Whiteheads - remain under the skin and are very small
Blackheads - clearly visible, they are black and appear on the surface of the skin.
Remember that a blackhead is not caused by dirt. Scrubbing your face vigorously when you see blackheads will not help
Papules - visible on the surface of the skin.
They are small bumps, usually pink
Pustules - clearly visible on the surface of the skin. They are red at their base and have pus at the top
Nobules - clearly visible on the surface of the skin. They are large, solid pimples.
They are painful and are embedded deep in the skin
Cysts - clearly visible on the surface of the skin. They are painful, and are filled with pus. Cysts can easily cause scars.
How common is acne?
Human skin has pores (tiny holes) which connect to oil glands located under the skin.
The glands are connected to the pores via follicles - small canals. These glands produce Sebum, an oily liquid. The sebum carries dead
skin cells through the follicles to the surface of the skin.
Dermatologists (skin specialists) say that approximately three-quarters of 11 to 30 year- olds will get acne at some time. Acne can affect people of all races and all ages. It most
commonly affects adolescents and young adults, although there are people in their fifties who still get acne. According to Brown University, USA, approximately 17 million
Americans are estimated to have acne at any one time.
Although acne affects both men and women, young men suffer from acne for longer - probably because testosterone, which is present in higher quantities in young men, can
make acne worse.
What causes acne?
Nobody is completely sure what causes acne.
Experts believe the primary cause is a rise in androgen levels - androgen is a type of hormone. Androgen levels rise when a human becomes an adolescent. Rising androgen levels make the oil glands under your skin
grow; the enlarged gland produces more oil.
Excessive sebum can break down cellular walls in your pores, causing bacteria to grow.
Some studies indicate that a susceptibility to acne could also be genetic. Some medications
that contain androgen and lithium may cause acne. Greasy cosmetics may cause acne in some susceptible people. Hormone changes during pregnancy may cause acne either to
develop for the first time, or to recur.
Recent developments on acne causes from MNT news
Strain of acne-causing bacteria found to actually preserve skin
Everyone has acne-causing bacteria living on their skin, but researchers at the Washington University School of Medicine have identified that there are "good" and "bad" strains of the
bacteria, which determine the frequency and severity of developing pimples.
High GI-diet and dairy intake linked to acne.
A diet high in glycemic index foods and dairy products is now linked to acne, according to a new study published in the Journal of the
Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Good, hope you got oriented?.
In summary, Acne is a skin disease, it is caused: genetically, by foods, creams etc.
Preventive and treatment methods to be updated soon.
